Quasi-Deuteron Configurations in odd-odd N=Z nuclei
نویسنده
چکیده
The isovector M1 transitions between low-lying T=1 and T=0 states in oddodd N=Z nuclei are analyzed. Simple analytical expressions for M1 transition strengths are derived within a single-j-shell approximation for both j = l+1/2 and j = l − 1/2 cases. The large B(M1) values for the j = l + 1/2 case are attributed to quasi-deuteron configurations. The B(M1) values for the j = l − 1/2 case are found to be small due to partly cancellation of spin and orbital parts of the M1 matrix element. Typeset using REVTEX

The knowledge of nuclear reaction rates is important for studying energy production and nucleosynthesis, especially in reactions including nuclei far from stability line, which are not accessible experimentally so far and thus it is necessary to be able to predict reaction cross sections in low excitation energies. Nuclear level density is one of the important key quantities in many nuclear phy...
متن کاملSkyrme Mean-Field Study of Rotational Bands in Transfermium Isotopes
Self-consistent mean field calculations with the SLy4 interaction and a densitydependent pairing force are presented for nuclei in the Nobelium mass region. Predicted quasi-particle spectra are compared with experiment for the heaviest known odd N and odd Z nuclei. Spectra and rotational bands are presented for nuclei around 252,4No for which experiments are either planned or already running.
متن کاملKerman-Klein-Dönau-Frauendorf model for odd-odd nuclei: formal theory
The Kerman-Klein-Dönau-Frauendorf (KKDF) model is a linearized version of the non-linear Kerman-Klein (equations of motion) formulation of the nuclear many-body problem. In practice, it is a generalization of the standard core-particle coupling model that, like the latter, provides a description of the spectroscopy of odd nuclei in terms of the corresponding properties of neighboring even nucle...
متن کاملJ un 2 00 4 Generalization of the N p N n Scheme and the Structure of the Valence Space
The N p N n scheme, which has been extensively applied to even-even nuclei, is found to be a very good benchmark for odd-even, even-odd, and doubly-odd nuclei as well. There are no apparent shifts in the correlations for these four classes of nuclei. The compact correlations highlight the deviant behavior of the Z=78 nuclei, are used to deduce effective valence proton numbers near Z=64, and to ...

2014 The energies and transition properties of the even-even N = 28, 50 isotones and Z = 28, 50, 82 isotopes are calculated in the framework of the Tamm-Dancoff and Random Phase Approximation, with an effective central interaction in an extended space consisting of two quasiparticle configurations for the open shell and particle-hole configurations for the closed core. Using the results of the ...
